STREET LIGHTING PROJECT

• Under the L 300, about 150 km of the road network of the Lusaka City Council will be installed with street lights
• A good number of traffic signals have been developed and still more are have been planned under the inner ring road project

It should be noted that most of the work on street lighting has been done by Lusaka City Council.

CHALLENGES

• Traffic accidents resulting into damage of traffic signals / Street lighting furniture is crucial for continued lighting of the city

General uncontrolled excavations for fiber optic installations in the city has posed a challenge on the underground street lights / traffic signals cable works

CONCLUSION

• Stakeholder participation has been so positive especially in the street and Traffic signals projects.
