LCC ORDERS SERVICE COMPANIES TO REMOVE CABLES FROM UNDERGROUND DRAINAGE

The Lusaka City Council has written to service providing companies which have laid cables in the underground drainages in the Central Business District to remove them so as to enable the easy flow water. The council has established that the presence of cables illegally laid in some areas has contributed to the blockages resulting in some parts of the CBD flooding. The council has given all service companies whose optic, power and network cables are laid in the drains to uproot them and find alternative by January 4, 2016.
