Swedish and Finish Ambassadors to Zambia Mr Henrik Cederin (first pix) and Mr Timo Olkkonen and Nostrum Company representative separately paid a courtesy call on His Worship the Mayor Mr. Wilson Kalumba and in a meeting which lasted for 30 minutes each the Mayor and Ambassadors discussed various issues however top on the agenda was Waste management in the City. The Mayor expressed worry at the increase in uncollected waste in the city and hoped that the interaction with the two Ambassadors would help to engage cities in Sweden and Finland to learn best practices in waste management. In response the Ambassadors pledged support to Lusaka City and implored the office of the Mayor to engage them wherever the council thought they could assist. Lusaka City Council in conjunction with Malmo Municipality (Sweden) is currently running a project called LuMa Sustainable Energy and soon another project with Lidkoping Municipality (Sweden) targeting the young people in schools on behavioural change will commence in Lusaka.
