GOVERNMENT PUSHES FOR INTEGRATED CDF IMS ROLLOUT: COLLABORATION KEY, SAYS LOCAL GOVERNMENT PERMANENT SECRETARY

September 24, 2025

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary for Technical Services, Mr. Nicholas Phiri, has urged local councils to promptly update their Constituency Development Fund (CDF) dashboards.

Speaking when he officially opened the Orientation Workshop for the rollout of the Integrated Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Information Management System at the Civic Centre in Lusaka today, Mr. Phiri emphasised that CDF initiatives have significantly impacted many people’s lives.

He stressed that such information should be readily available on council platforms like websites, enabling the public to appreciate the benefits.

“Once you have updated your CDF dashboards, websites and other platforms, citizens will be well-informed and able to track CDF applications, making both your work and theirs easier in the process,” Mr. Phiri stated.

He encouraged Local Authorities to adopt technology and innovation in capturing developmental data, noting that quality data is vital for informed decision-making and policy formulation.

“The Ministry relies on you, as Local Authorities, for data that helps us formulate decisions responding to people’s needs and as such, ensure you provide us with up-to-date and quality data,” he explained.

Mr. Phiri advised workshop participants to prioritise the program as it would aid their local authorities in addressing community challenges with relevant information.

He also called for collaboration between Smart Zambia, the Ministry, local authorities and stakeholders to drive digital innovation for effective service delivery.

The Permanent Secretary pledged the Ministry’s support for the initiative, including necessary resources like human capital and equipment.
