MANDEVU COMMUNITY ENGAGED ON DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE

Hon. Christopher Shakafuswa Member of Parliament for Mandevu Constituency, successfully conducted a four-day community engagement exercise across all eight (8) wards of the constituency.

The engagement sessions which brought together the Member of Parliament, Ward Development Committee (WDC) members and Ward Councilors, served as a vital platform for direct interaction with residents.

The objective of the meetings was to listen to the concerns of the community and gather input on priority development needs to be considered under the 2026 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Throughout the engagements, residents in all eight wards expressed a range of development needs, highlighting key projects such as road rehabilitation, street lighting, Rehabilitation of car & foot bridges,Market Shelters, drainage improvements, upgrading of community schools, construction of police posts, and improved health facilities.

Hon. Shakafuswa emphasized the importance of inclusive development engagements for they promote a broader effort to promote transparency, accountability, and community participation in the development process.

The lawmaker also encouraged community members including persons with disabilities, to take advantage of the various skills training programs available under the CDF initiative, which are designed to empower individuals and promote self reliance.

He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the CDF responds to the actual needs of the people and supports projects that deliver real impact in the community.

The MP expressed gratitude to all community members who took part in the meetings and reaffirmed his pledge to continue working hand in hand with the people of Mandevu to deliver meaningful and sustainable development.
