Lusaka City Council charges parking fees for all parking slots in the Central Business District. This charge is intended to finance road markings, road signs, wages, salaries and other related overheads.

Every motorist qualifies to park on any parking slot available in town except for those areas reserved for Financial Institutions and Embassies. These have been granted special permission to reserve slots due to their nature of business.

Types of parking permits

  • Daily permit
  • Weekly permit
  • Monthly permit
  • Yearly permit
  • Reserved parking permit

Pay PointsAll advance and reserved parking fee payments can be made at Civic Centre, Revenue Hall or at our offices situated along Cha Cha Cha road at the LUSAKA CLOTHING FACTORY opposite the Development Bank of Zambia.

Parking in the city center  attracts a fee of Kr1.00/hour. There are parking attendants all over the city centre who collect the parking fee.

Future plans

To introduce parking metres so that each motorist pays for the number of hours the vehicle remains parked at a particular slot.
