The construction of a Recreation Centre in Matero Ward 32, Matero Constituency funded under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), is progressing well and has reached an advanced stage.
The project commenced following the official site handover on 3rd June 2025 and is scheduled for completion between September and October 2025.

To facilitate the successful implementation of this initiative, the Council allocated One Million, Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Kwacha (K1,250,000) towards construction works.
Once completed, the Recreation Centre will serve as a vibrant community hub, offering dedicated spaces for sports, educational programs, mentorship and social gatherings.
It is envisioned to be a catalyst for youth empowerment and community development, providing residents, especially young people with opportunities to acquire valuable life and vocational skills.
The facility is further expected to significantly reduce crime rates and foster social cohesion by engaging youth in positive activities and minimising idleness.
The Lusaka City Council therefore calls upon residents of Matero Ward 32 to continue supporting this initiative and safeguard it against vandalism to ensure its long-term sustainability.
